October Specials Support Local Breast Cancer Nonprofit
We’re Hosting Our 5th Annual ‘Pink Out’ in Memory of Stephanie Serrano on Oct. 21
In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, Serrano’s Mexican Restaurants and our new Tempe-based, fast-casual restaurant Pronto by Serrano’s are offering October specials with a portion of the proceeds benefiting local nonprofit Check for a Lump. To date, our family owned and operated restaurants have donated $11,500 to local breast cancer nonprofits since 2020.
Check for a Lump was founded in 2009 with the simple goal of encouraging women to perform monthly breast self-exams. Their mission has since expanded to providing free breast health education, mammograms, testing and direct assistance to breast cancer patients with wigs, support and resources in Arizona.

OUR 5th ANNUAL EVENT
We’ve supported breast cancer-related nonprofits since losing Stephanie, a restaurant co-owner at the time, to breast cancer in October 2019. The fifth annual “Pink Out” will be held at all four Serrano’s restaurant locations in addition to Pronto on Sat., Oct. 21, 2023, in memory of Stephanie, who was also a former Chandler City Councilmember.
Anyone who wears pink into our restaurants that day will score their party a free order of pink-sprinkled buñuelos for dessert. At Pronto, we’ll be serving up free pink-fried ice cream that day. Additionally, Check for a Lump has arranged for free mobile mammography at our Chandler Serrano’s location from 7-11 a.m. for those without health insurance (the RV will be parked behind the restaurant). “We all miss Stephanie and know that she would be proud of us aligning with a nonprofit like Check for a Lump to provide life-saving education and testing for breast cancer,” said Ric Serrano, CEO of Serrano’s Mexican Restaurants. “Anything we can do to help prevent other families from facing this battle is worthy of our support. We are also privileged to have the mobile mammography unit back at our Chandler location again this year.”
Our October specials will be available beginning Tues., Oct. 3, 2023, at all four Serrano’s locations and Pronto and will run through the end of October. A portion of the proceeds from all specials will directly benefit Check for a Lump!
